SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 11 -- McAfee, Inc., (NYSE:MFE) today announced McAfee Anti-Theft File Protection, an innovative security software which provides privacy and theft protection for valuable files stored on a PC.

By enabling PC users to lock their important files, such as bank statements, tax returns, business documents and even photos in a digital vault, McAfee Anti-Theft can safeguard them against identity and PC thieves, hackers and others.

Consumers and small businesses have more digital information on their PCs than ever before.

McAfee research shows that nine out of ten consumers now keep personal information, such as wills, financial documents, social security numbers and passwords, on their PCs, and more than 50% would not want other people to see certain documents
and files.

With two million laptops stolen every year and someone's identity stolen every two seconds, consumers and small businesses need an easy way to protect their sensitive information.

"McAfee protects consumers on the PC, Web and mobile platforms and with the introduction of this new anti-theft category, we are offering consumers an important extra layer of security for their PCs," said Todd Gebhart, senior vice president and general manager, consumer, mobile and small business.

"With McAfee Anti-Theft, we are extending our security offering beyond traditional malware protection to providing consumers with comprehensive online and offline protection, giving them the peace of mind that their PC files are safe and secure."
